Job Title: Ocean Export Specialist Operator
Location: M34, Manchester
Salary: £35,000 per annum
Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30-17:00pm
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Ocean Export Specialist Operator to join a busy and growing freight forwarding team based in the M34 area of Manchester. This is a hands-on operational role managing ocean export shipments from start to finish, ensuring a smooth and compliant end-to-end service for a portfolio of customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage ocean export shipments from booking through to final delivery
- Handle full export documentation including Bills of Lading, customs entries, and shipping instructions
- Liaise with shipping lines, hauliers, overseas agents, and customers
- Ensure all export shipments comply with international trade regulations and customs requirements
- Monitor shipment progress and proactively resolve any operational issues or delays
- Provide high levels of customer service and regular shipment updates
- Accurately maintain internal systems and records
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customer accounts and suppliers
- Support continuous improvement within export processes and procedures
Requirements
- Previous experience in freight forwarding, specifically ocean exports
- Strong understanding of export documentation and customs procedures
- Confident communicator with excellent customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and work under pressure
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Proficient in freight systems and Microsoft Office
