Location: Monday-Friday, 09:00-17:30

Salary: Up to £38,000 DOE

Hours: Monday – Friday 9:00 – 17:30

A well-established global freight forwarding organisation is seeking an experienced Ocean Export Operator to join their busy and growing international logistics team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong ocean freight knowledge who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and commercially focused environment.

The Role

As an Ocean Export Operator, you will be responsible for managing the full export process from booking through to final delivery. You will work closely with customers, overseas agents, shipping lines, and internal departments to ensure smooth and efficient movement of cargo.

You will play a key role in delivering a high level of service while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and strong communication throughout the shipment lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing end-to-end ocean export shipments
• Booking cargo with shipping lines and negotiating rates where required
• Preparing and processing export documentation
• Liaising with overseas agents to ensure smooth shipment execution
• Providing proactive updates to customers throughout the shipment process
• Handling customer queries and resolving operational issues efficiently
• Ensuring compliance with customs and export regulations
• Working closely with internal teams including customs, sales, and finance

Requirements

• Previous experience in ocean export operations within freight forwarding is essential
• Strong understanding of export processes, documentation, and shipping line procedures
• Experience using freight forwarding systems (e.g. Cargowise or similar) desirable
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

Package

• Salary up to £38,000 depending on experience
• Monday to Friday working hours (09:00-17:30)
