We are currently recruiting on behalf of an established international logistics and freight forwarding organisation with a strong presence across global markets. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Sea Freight Operator to join an international team and take responsibility for the end-to-end coordination of ocean freight shipments.

The Role

As a Sea Freight Operator, you will be responsible for the smooth handling and monitoring of shipments across international trade lanes, working closely with customers, overseas partners, suppliers and internal teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing and monitoring international FCL, LCL and cross-trade shipments
• Coordinating and monitoring inland transport to and from ports
• Receiving, processing and checking customer bookings and orders
• Collecting shipment data and proactively monitoring freight movements
• Maintaining regular communication with customers, agents and suppliers
• Preparing customer and partner invoices
• Monitoring shipment costs, profitability and margins
• Resolving operational issues and keeping customers informed throughout the shipment lifecycle
• Providing a proactive, customer-focused service
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and deliver more sustainable logistics solutions
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across an international network

About You

We are looking for someone with a solid background in sea freight forwarding who is confident managing shipments from booking through to completion.

You will ideally have:

• Completed commercial training or equivalent professional qualifications
• Previous professional experience within ocean freight forwarding
• Strong knowledge of FCL, LCL and/or cross-trade shipments
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• A proactive and independent approach to your work
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• The ability to work effectively as part of an international team
• A quick grasp of new processes and systems
• Fluent German and English, both written and spoken
• French language skills would be advantageous
