Trainee Multimodal Freight Forwarder

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Multimodal Freight Forwarder Trainee. In this role, you will gain fantastic hands-on experience in logistics and transportation operations while contributing to the smooth and efficient movement of freight.

This is a fantastic opportunity to enter the industry with an established and reputable company, and learn operations (Air & Sea) start to finish.

Location : Hayes

Job type – Full time – Permanent

Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday (8.30- 5pm)

Salary: £26,000 – £28,000 (Potential end of year bonus)

Responsibilities

• You will learn Independent handling of shipments in the field of Airfreight / Seafreight, Import and Export in accordance with our quality standards (among other things documentation, booking, shipment control, transport insurance, accounting, customs handling)
• Learn the Handling of dangerous goods in accordance with our DGR (Dangerous Goods Regulations)

• Communicate with carriers, customers, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods
• Learn to use transportation management systems to input and update freight information
• Support inventory management and warehousing processes

• Focus on ensuring the most cost effective service solutions are utilized without risk to service levels

• Participate in training programs to develop knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practice

Requirements

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Proficiency in using computer systems and software, including Microsoft Office suite
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies
• A background working with a freight forwarding company would be desirable, but not essential
