The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Transport Manager to take ownership of transport operations at a busy, multi-site logistics company based in Essex.

Managing a fleet of 20-40 vehicles, you’ll oversee multi-drop, groupage, and general haulage operations, ensuring the highest standards of compliance, efficiency, and service delivery.

You’ll lead, coach, and develop a skilled team of Transport Planners and drivers – bringing out the best in your people and driving continuous improvement across the department.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily transport operations across multiple UK sites.

• Lead and develop a team of Transport Planners and operational staff.

• Ensure full compliance with transport legislation and Operator Licence requirements.

• Oversee planning, routing, and vehicle utilisation for multi-drop and groupage services.

• Deliver operational excellence, cost control, and customer satisfaction.

• Foster a motivated, high-performing team culture.

About You

• Manager CPC qualification – ESSENTIAL

• Experience managing a multi-drop, groupage, or general haulage operation.

• Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and engage teams.

• Strong organisational and communication skills.

• Commercially astute, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and performance improvement.

This well-established, medium-sized logistics brand employs around 200 staff across four UK sites.
Due to continued success and growth – including a recent move into a new facility at London Gateway – an exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Transport Manager to take a leading role in their next phase of expansion.

What’s on Offer

• Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 (DOE)

• Holidays: 30 days (rising to 33 with service)
