Location: St. Albans, Hertfordshire

Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 (DOE) + Bonus, OTE £60,000

My client is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join their team based in St. Albans. You will join and oversee the Operations team. The right candidate will need to have experience in start-to-finish Air, Road and Sea Freight Operations and have a comprehensive understanding of pricing, quoting and negotiation.

My client is an experienced freight forwarder with over 35 years of experience in the industry, dealing with approximately 230 clients world-wide, with multiple offices across the UK.

• Annual Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 (DOE) + Bonus, OTE £60,000

• Full time: Monday to Friday – 8:30am – 6:00pm

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage an Operations team of 12 people.
• Manage day to day import and export bookings of air, road and sea freight.
• Manage a proportion of the top 10 key accounts.
• Negotiating with clients and calculating and quoting for air, road and sea freight bookings.
• Meet with, build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers.
• Monitor KPIs.

Requirements:

• Air, Road and Sea freight operations experience is essential.
• Import and Export operations experience.
• Customs experience using CDS.
• Pricing, quoting and negotiation experience.
• Previous experience as an Operations Manager / Operations Supervisor / Operations Team Lead.
• Ability to speak a second European language would be an advantage, but not desirable.
• Excellent customer service experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and great attention to detail.
