Position: European Full load & Groupage Operations Manager

Location: Pontefract

Hours: Mon – Fri 9am – 17:30

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 (DOE)

We are currently recruiting for a client of ours who was established over 45 years ago and is still proudly a family-owned company, that specialises in road freight services in the UK and across Europe.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Full Load & Groupage Operations Manager to manage and expand their services in Europe, to and from Germany, the Benelux Eastern Europe and Scandinavia. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full and groupage operations, ensuring the timely and safe delivery of goods.

Your key responsibilities:

• Liaising with clients, drivers and subcontractors, European Agents, shipping companies with full and part loads
• Plan, organise and oversee the full load and groupage operations to meet requirements
• Deliver exceptional customer service
• Monitor and optimise transportation routes to maximise efficiency
• Track and update delivery statuses in the company’s system and provide regular updates to clients
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations
• Resolve operational issues or customer complaints
• The opportunity to develop your own department

Requirements:

• Proven experience in UK & European road freight general haulage sector
• Knowledge of hazardous cargo operations is an advantage
• A strong understanding of transportation and operation regulations in UK & Europe
• Strong leadership and communications skills
• The ability to problem solve and work effectively in a fast-paced environment and working to tight deadlines
• Proficiency in transportation management systems and software
• Import & Export operation knowledge
