I’m currently recruiting on behalf of my client a well-established, family-run freight forwarding business with over 20 years of experience delivering global logistics solutions. Known for their personal approach and exceptional service, they support businesses of all sizes with air, sea and road freight across international markets.

Due to continued growth, they’re looking to add an experienced Multimodal Freight Operator to their Shoreham team.

The Role

This is a varied operational role where you’ll be responsible for managing international freight movements from booking through to final delivery. You’ll work across multiple transport modes while building strong relationships with customers, carriers and overseas partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing import and export shipments via air, sea and road
• Arranging bookings with carriers and overseas agents
• Preparing shipping and customs documentation
• Monitoring shipments and proactively updating customers
• Liaising with hauliers, shipping lines, airlines and customs authorities
• Handling quotations and supporting the commercial team where required
• Resolving operational issues efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service
• Ensuring all shipments are completed accurately and compliantly

About You

You’ll already have experience within freight forwarding and enjoy working in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Ideally you’ll have:

• Previous experience operating multimodal freight shipments
• Knowledge of import and export procedures
• Experience carrying out customs clearances
• Strong understanding of freight forwarding documentation
• Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
• Confident communication skills and a customer-first approach
• The ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously
• Experience using freight forwarding systems (preferred but not essential)
