We are recruiting for an experienced Ocean Freight Import Coordinator to join a small, family-run freight forwarding company based in Fareham.

The Role

As Ocean Freight Import Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing ocean import shipments from start to finish, ensuring goods are moved efficiently, accurately and in line with customer requirements.

You will liaise with customers, shipping lines, overseas agents, hauliers and internal teams to ensure a smooth import process.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Coordinate ocean freight import shipments from origin through to final delivery
• Handle FCL and LCL import movements
• Liaise with customers, shipping lines, overseas agents and hauliers
• Arrange customs clearance instructions and delivery bookings
• Monitor shipments and keep customers updated throughout the process
• Process shipping documentation accurately
• Resolve queries, delays and operational issues
• Ensure all files are completed correctly and in line with company procedures
• Provide a high level of customer service
• Support the wider operations team when required

Requirements

• Previous ocean freight import experience
• Experience working for a freight forwarder is essential
• Good knowledge of FCL and LCL import procedures
• Understanding of customs clearance processes
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Good attention to detail and organisational skills
• Confident dealing with customers, suppliers and overseas agents
• Able to work well in a small team environment
