Road Freight Operator. European Groupage

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum, depending on experience
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm

An established freight forwarding business is currently recruiting for a Road Freight Operator to join its groupage operations team, handling export movements across multiple European markets.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced road freight professional to join a busy and supportive operations department, working as part of a wider freight forwarding team.

Role Responsibilities

• Working within a busy road freight operations department

• Handling European groupage services

• Arranging the movement of freight from origin through to final destination

• Coordinating both international and national freight movements

• Liaising with customers, overseas partners and suppliers

• Managing operational documentation and ensuring shipments run smoothly

• Supporting the wider team with day-to-day operational requirements

Skills and Experience Required

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in European road freight

• Good understanding of European groupage operations

• Experience with customs paperwork

• Ability to manually calculate costs and charges

• Understanding of taxable kilos

• Strong customer service skills

• Able to work well as part of a team

• Confident working independently and managing workload effectively

• Driving licence preferred due to location
