Sales Engineer – Industrial Equipment

Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Salary: £45,000-£50,000

About the Role

My client is a growing engineering and manufacturing business supplying specialist equipment to a wide range of industrial sectors.

Due to continued expansion, they are looking for a motivated and technically knowledgeable Sales Engineer to generate new business opportunities, develop customer relationships and provide technical support throughout the sales process.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in technical sales, engineering, manufacturing or industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new sales opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
• Provide technical pre-sales support across a range of products.
• Conduct customer site visits and technical discussions.
• Work closely with design and engineering teams to understand product specifications and project requirements.
• Prepare and submit tailored sales proposals and quotations.
• Monitor industry trends, competitor activity and customer requirements.
• Attend trade shows, conferences and networking events.
• Provide post-sale support and respond to technical customer enquiries.

About You

• At least 2 years’ experience in technical sales, ideally within manufacturing, industrial equipment, kilns, furnaces or associated process equipment.
• Strong technical engineering understanding.
• A technical understanding of kiln technology, furnace process machinery, industrial burners, combustion systems and refractory linings
• Previous sales experience within specialist machinery or industrial equipment would be advantageous.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving ability and commercial awareness.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a wider team.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to work from the Stoke-on-Trent office, travel to customer sites and attend industry events when required.
