Location: Witham, Essex
Salary: Up to £32,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Hours: Mon – Fri 8:30am – 17:00pm

We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Import Customs Clearance Operator to join our dynamic team at a leading freight forwarding group based in Witham. If you have experience in customs clearance and a passion for logistics, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your career with an industry leader.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the import customs clearance process for a variety of clients.
• Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and maintain accurate records.
• Prepare and submit import documentation and customs entries via the CDS system.
• Liaise with customs authorities, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Provide excellent customer service by updating clients on shipment statuses and resolving issues promptly.
• Keep up to date with changes in import/export regulations and customs procedures.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Previous experience in import customs clearance, ideally within a freight forwarding or logistics environment.
• In-depth knowledge of HMRC regulations and customs procedures.
• Proficiency with the CDS system and other relevant software.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
• A proactive, can-do attitude and a desire to deliver exceptional service.
