Salary: Up to CHF 80,000 DOE

Are you an experienced Ocean Import Operator looking for your next opportunity with an established and growing international freight forwarding business?

We are recruiting on behalf of a successful logistics company in the Zurich area that is continuing to grow its Ocean Freight operation and is looking to add an experienced Ocean Import Operator to the team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys managing shipments from start to finish and working in a customer-focused forwarding environment.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing the full Ocean Import process from start to finish, ensuring shipments are handled efficiently and customers receive a high level of service throughout.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage Ocean Import shipments from start to finish
• Handle bookings, documentation, customs and delivery arrangements
• Coordinate with customers, shipping lines, overseas offices and international partners
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively resolve any issues
• Prepare and check import documentation
• Coordinate deliveries and ensure deadlines are met
• Handle customer queries and provide regular shipment updates
• Ensure accurate invoicing and completion of files
• Work closely with colleagues across the wider forwarding operation
• Maintain strong relationships with customers and international partners

About You

We are looking for an experienced Ocean Import professional with a strong understanding of the forwarding process.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience handling Ocean Import from start to finish
• Strong knowledge of international freight forwarding
• Experience dealing with shipping lines, customers and overseas partners
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
• A proactive and hands-on approach
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Fluency in Swiss-German and English
• The ability to work independently while contributing to a wider team
