My client is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to join their Building Services / M&E Pre-Construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering accurate, competitive, and commercially sound estimates across a diverse portfolio of pharmaceutical, healthcare, data centre, industrial, life sciences, and large-scale commercial construction projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated estimator with strong technical knowledge of electrical building services, tendering, cost planning, and pre-construction activities within the MEP contracting sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate electrical estimates, cost plans, and tender submissions for major M&E projects.
• Manage the full tendering process from enquiry through to submission and post-tender negotiations.
• Review and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, BIM models, and coordinated MEP drawings.
• Carry out comprehensive electrical take-offs and quantity surveys.
• Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure competitive pricing.
• Assess technical and commercial risks, identifying exclusions, assumptions, contingencies, and value engineering opportunities.
• Develop cost-effective value engineering solutions while maintaining compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project delivery teams.
• Support bid presentations, pre-construction meetings, and project handovers.
• Maintain accurate estimating records, databases, and pricing schedules.
• Analyse project outcomes and market trends to continuously improve estimating accuracy and competitiveness.
• Stay up to date with developments in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Contracting, BIM, and Construction Cost Management.

Requirements

• Minimum 4+ years’ experience in an Electrical Estimating, M&E Estimating, Quantity Surveying, or Pre-Construction role within the Building Services sector.
• Experience pricing large-scale commercial, pharmaceutical, healthcare, industrial, mission-critical, or data centre projects.
• Relevant degree, diploma, trade background, or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong understanding of Electrical Building Services, MEP Systems, Construction Methodologies, and Tendering Processes.
• Proficiency in estimating software, Microsoft Excel, and cost management tools.
• Experience interpreting BIM models and coordinated services drawings.
• Excellent commercial awareness, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and deliver accurate estimates within tight deadlines.
